Church Key Policy
One member of the Operations Team is assigned to be responsible for Building Security. This trustee will manage church keys.
Keys will be issued at the sole discretion of the Operations Team: All keys must be returned to the Operations Team by any person who has ended their term of office in the work area for which they were assigned keys. Staff/Employees must return all keys at the end of their employment.
Typical distribution of keys is as follows:
Master Keys
Available only to members of the Operations Team. (If the church hires a professional building manager, that staff member would also be issed a master key).
Office Keys
These restricted security keys are available only to Church Staff members to assure office privacy. Individual Operations Team members may be issued Office Keys if their job function necessitates access to the offices.
Exterior Door Keys
- Exterior door Keys are issued at the discretion of the Operations Team as follows:
- Each member of the Operations Team shall be issued an exterior door key upon request.
- Each Church Staff member shall be issued an exterior door key upon request.
- Vendors and contractors will be issued an exterior door key as determined by the Operations Team.
“Other” Keys
There may be other door lock sets that are keyed differently than the above keys for various reasons. Those keys are issued at the discretion of the Operations Team.
Church Key Request/Agreement:
Each person issued a key or keys must accept (and sign) the CCAH Key Request agreement.
